Love The Way You Love, the Oni Press series I worked on alongside Jamie S Rich, has been awarded as one of 2009′s Great Graphic Novels for Teens by the The Young Adult Library Services Association! WOW, RIGHT?!

Here’s the jist of it from their site…

The list of 53 titles, drawn from 154 official nominations, is presented annually at the ALA Midwinter Meeting. The books, recommended for those ages 12-18, meet the criteria of both good quality literature and appealing reading for teens.

Many, many thanks to all the Librarians who voted and to Robin Brenner, the committee chair. Also major thanks to Oni for providing copies of the books for the committee and giving it their all.

We’re in some great company, like Takehiko Inoue’s amazing series Real, and the Tamaki cousin’s Skim.

Personally? I’m excited and gobsmacked as LTWYL seemed to quietly slip under the radar when it came out but more and more people are checking it out now.

High fives to Mr Rich! High fives to Oni!
