The convention wasn’t awful, it was just a little madly organised and it was pretty dead throughout the day. Plus the Swedish comic scene really couldn’t care less about my face or my comics (let alone comics about my face!), perhaps due to the more cartoony nature of my drawings? I dunno, but for me it was a little depressing. Damn shame as on paper it looked to be an amazing show as detailed by the pluses above. I’m not sure how much advertising or word of mouth had gone around but sadly it was amongst the slowest shows I’ve ever done. I don’t think I’d go back as an exhibitor, but we’ll see.
For those who like to see my actual face, good ol’ shortymckissyface Cadwell has uploaded a slew of photos that me and Anna took while we were out there. Like I said, it was probably the best holiday ever. Sweden, you still give me tingly feelings in my heart.
I’ve also installed a ShareThis plugin, which means you can now share the delights of Ellerbisms on your favourite social networking sites (and Myspace…OUCHSICKBURN) if you so wish. It actually works, which I am shocked about as WordPress plug ins confuse the heck out of me and rarely work when I try.

A doe is a deer…a girl deer… anyways, glad you had fun in sweden. I’ve never been to a convention, but I’ve just started making comics again, so maybe one day…
Yeah I don’t really have a clue when it comes to the sexual orientation of animals and what their names should/shouldn’t be.
haw, I look like Little My from the moomins in the first panel- look at how warmly I’m looking at Cadwell. Nice.
I could eat this food again right now. Yum.
You know where you *can* find a British convention that is indie-friendly and in a good location? The Thought Bubble Sequential Art Festival, Leeds, 21st November!
What’s that? Why yes, we ARE shamelessly self-promoting. Thank you for asking.
I will make it my personal quest to ensure that a deer appears this year (not a binding guarantee).
Oh totally. I <3 Thought Bubble so much, everyone should go, either as a punter or as an exhibitor.
Cadwell could so be the love child of Giles Coren & Sue Perkins from that BBC2 Supersizers Eat programme.
Aw cheers Marc! We <3 you and your work too, thanks for the endorsement (your cheque is in the post)
